Every Christmas, the North Pole becomes the busiest fulfilment operation on the planet. In the spirit of the season, we’ve created a fictional case study exploring what a modern automation upgrade could look like if Santa’s iconic workshop were facing the same challenges as today’s high-volume distribution centres.

Inspired by real-world projects delivered by CSL Automation, this festive “what if?” scenario imagines a full-scale expansion of the North Pole’s production and fulfilment operations — featuring mezzanines, conveyor systems, automated sortation, packaging, and warehouse control integration. The fictional results highlight dramatic improvements in throughput, accuracy, efficiency, and future scalability, all while reducing manual handling and operational pressure during extreme seasonal peaks.
